Organizations are selected from those that assist people and cities in areas where employees of Boeing California primarily reside (Los Angeles, Orange, San Bernardino, Ventura, Riverside and San Diego counties).
To be considered for a grant, organizations must have an Internal Revenue Service designation as a nonprofit, tax-exempt public charity, a 501(c )(3) for at least one year. The Fund’s fiscal year begins January 1, and requests for funding are considered quarterly. Repeat requests will not be considered in the same year. A grant does not necessarily indicate that continued support will be available.
Note: It is strongly recommended that an agency have a referral from a Boeing employee who donates to the Pooled Fund of ECF.
Areas that are not considered for grants because of policy, budget limitations, and/or federal law include:
Political organizations or programs
Fraternal, sectarian, social, religious, auxiliaries, service clubs, or similar groups
Youth sports organizations and educational institutions—except those dedicated solely to the disabled
Organizations supported in large part by government funding—except joint government and private enterprise projects
Private foundations
Trips, tours, or fund-raising sponsorship (of individuals)
Fund-raising events, including courtesy advertising, conferences, or dinner tickets
Scholarships
